Vasculitis UK

In June 2026, Loughborough Judo Club held a charity Throw-a-thon in aid of Vasculitis UK. The efforts of the club’s judoka meant over 2500 throws were completed on the night and over £1,400 was raised for the charity.

The Throw-a-thon was put on in honour of Matthew Denniff, one of the club coaches who was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA), a form of Vasculitis, in 2025.  The event also marked part of his 50th birthday celebrations. Matthew said “I will remember the Throw-a-thon fondly for a long time because of the support, willingness and sense of community that the club provide.”
